This past December 13 marked the 150th anniversary of the bloody Battle of Fredericksburg. While attention is focused on the numerous Union army infantry charges in the face of CSA artillery fire on Marye’s Heights and infantry rifles at the stone wall, many historians state that the key to the entire battle was the action downstream where PA General George G. Meade’s Pennsylvania Reserves broke General Stonewall Jackson’s line. Mr. Ernsberger has thoroughly researched and written the story recently published in 2012.
