Franklin Meets Fans

New Penn State football head coach James Franklin is already hard at work just 3 days into his new job.  Yesterday, the 41-year-old met with fans at the Penn State wrestling match and Lady Lion basketball game. He also met with his new team for the first time. Franklin’s assistant coaches won’t be officially announced until all hirings are complete. The former Vanderbilt coach already received a pair of commitments from incoming recruits opting to follow him to Happy Valley.

State College Delta Program to Expand

The State College Area School District is considering expanding its Delta Program as early as next school year. According to the Centre Daily Times, officials hope to create a more defined middle school experiences for student enrollees. At tonight’s school board meeting administrators will present a proposal to expand the program to fifth and sixth-grade students. Tonight’s meeting takes place at 7 in the boardroom at 131 West Nittany Avenue.

Penn State Students Return 

Penn State students are back in the State College area for the spring semester. Heavy traffic clogged roads around the University Park campus yesterday. Classes begin today.
