Teen Driver Safety Week

Teen Driver Safety Week is underway across Pennsylvania. Governor Tom Corbett proclaimed this week Teen Driver Safety Week to coincide with the national observance. PennDOT reminds parents that adult guidance is critical to keep teens safe on the roads. 


Prescription Drug Disposal

Folks will have an opportunity to discard unused prescription drugs this Saturday at Giant Foods at 255 Northland Center. Ferguson Township and Patton Township police are teaming up to provide a safe outlet for unwanted prescription medications. Saturday is the nation-wide National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day sponsored by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. All individuals turning in medications will remain anonymous. The event will last from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.


State College Roadwork

Southgate Drive between Highlandon Court and Ashwicken Court in State College will be reduced to a single lane through Wednesday due to road work in the area. The State College Borough Public Works Department is performing street maintenance. Work will last from 7:30 am until 5 pm. Folks are asked to use an alternate route.


State College Borough Council

The State College Borough Council will meet tonight at the downtown municipal building. Council members will continue to discuss the potential withdrawal from the Centre Region Code Administration Program. Council will also review government pension amendments for municipal plans. As always, the public is invited to attend. The meeting begins at 7:30.
