Snow to Strike Again

Accuweather anticipates early morning snow accumulations totaling up to 3 inches in some locations. Please travel carefully as a quick moving storm makes its way out of the area. Warmer weather is anticipated later this week. Despite significant snowfall totals already this month, the snowiest December on record was in 1969 with 31.4 inches of powder falling. Fortunately, that record is forecast to remain unchanged.

Safe Drug Return Instituted

Pennsylvania residents now have a new way to safely discard unused prescription drugs. Governor Tom Corbett launched another piece of his “Healthy Pennsylvania” initiative yesterday. It includes a permanent statewide drug return through as many as 250 secure return boxes across the state. According to a release, the new MedReturn boxes are installed in 29 counties and allow individuals to dispose of unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter medication safely and anonymously. Unfortunately, no locations were listed for Centre County.


Hearings Begin for Former Penn State Administrators

A pre-trial hearing for former Penn State administrators Graham Spanier, Tim Curley and Gary Schultz begins today in Harrisburg. According to the Centre Daily Times, the hearings could last until Friday. Possible arguments for both the defense and prosecution are unknown. The report states former-university lawyer Cynthia Baldwin is expected to testify sometime this week.
