The Hunt is On
Hunters are littered across Pennsylvania’s woods and fields this morning hoping to bring home that trophy buck. As usual, the state’s firearms deer season begins today, the first Monday following Thanksgiving. According to an article in the Centre Daily Times, the Pennsylvania Game Commission expects 750,000 hunters to don orange vests and caps this morning and says deer population is stable or increasing in each of the state’s 23 wildlife management units.
Former Players Raise Funds
Former State College High School football players raised more than 13-thousand dollars for high school scholarships through the 2013 Turkey Bowl held at Memorial Field on Friday. The annual post-Thanksgiving touch football marathon at Memorial Field featured teams representing different graduating classes. The money was raised in honor of late former State College football teammates Jeremy Wise and Brandon Ream. Ream passed away last week after a courageous battle with cancer.
Spanier Receives Clarifications
According to Pennlive, the state attorney general’s office filed Friday four pages detailing alleged lies told by former Penn State President Graham Spanier in his grand jury testimony. The information addresses Spanier’s request for particular information to aid preparation for trial. The allegations provided are not new, but provide clarity on some details for the approaching trial against former university administrators.
