Erickson Receives Salary Boost
Penn State President Rodney Erickson’s annual salary has climbed from $515,000 to $600,000 in year two at the helm of the university. According to a Penn State release, Erickson’s raise is in line with the employment agreement with university. The raise is performance-based and merited according to members of the Penn State Board of Trustees.
Men Arrested on Drug Possession
Two Pennsylvania men are facing significant drug charges after police arrested the men seized 75 bags of heroin and 12 grams of marijuana from a State College hotel room yesterday. Centre County Drug Task Force officers and agents of the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General executed the search warrant yesterday afternoon at the Imperial 400 Motel on South Atherton Street. 28-year-old Nathan Bank and 31-year-old Daniel Dade each face counts of possession with intent to deliver, criminal conspiracy, and possession of a controlled substance.
Fire Leaves Minimal Damage
An apparent electrical fire in Patton Township home yesterday morning caused minor damage. No one was home when the fire ignited at 412 Canterbury Drive in the Park Forest neighborhood. According to the Centre Daily Times, neighbors saw smoke coming from the roof of the house and alerted police. The house is believed to be a weekend rental home.
Penn State Football Loses Value in 2012
Penn State ranks as the 13th most valuable college football team according to Forbes’ annual list. The program fell from third in last year’s rankings, dropping 21 percent in total value. According to Forbes, Penn State’s football revenue was at $66-million. Texas, Michigan and Notre Dame topped the list.
