Wrestler Faces DUI
As first reported by WRSC last month, star Penn State wrestler Ed Ruth is facing DUI charges after a November 13th incident in downtown State College. Police say the 23-year-old had a blood-alcohol-content of .281 percent when he crashed his car in front of Taco Bell on East College Avenue. The two-time national champion is currently suspended from the team and will not be back in the lineup until December 15th at the earliest.
Police Investigate Burglaries
State College police are investigating at least three burglaries that occurred around the Thanksgiving holiday. According to the Centre Daily Times, police are not sure if the incidents are connected. Police say electronics were stolen from residences at 148 West Hamilton Avenue, 150 West Hamilton Avenue and 518 South Pugh Street. Similar incidents are common over holiday and semester breaks when most Penn State students leave the borough.
Library Remote Drop
Schlow Centre Region Library users can once again return books at the Weis Market in the Hills Plaza South. According to Statecollege.com, the book return is available 24/7 outside the store’s left-side entrance next to a postal service mailbox. The remote location was closed due to construction at the store. It is one of six easy drop-off locations outside of the library.
