Paterno Family Speaks

The family of late Penn State football head coach Joe Paterno maintains that Paterno did not actively conceal child sexual abuse committed by long time defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky. An interview with Sue Paterno aired yesterday on Katie Couric’s afternoon talk show. Son Jay Paterno also visited with ESPN and CNN and he hopes that people can now accept a different point of view.

Memorial Field Update

The State College Area School District can now seek bids to repair Memorial Field’s west side bleachers. The district’s board of directors unanimously approved a request to seek bids last night. According to a district release, the bid includes replacement of the upper and lower walls on the Fraser street side of the stadium, fencing along Fraser street and west bleacher assembly. The final project for the stadium is not yet approved.
