"State Patty's Day" Crime Numbers Down
According to early reports, police were less active during the 2013 “State Patty’s Day” holiday. State College Police say they fielded 21 percent less calls and made 39 percent fewer arrests than compared to 2012. The Centre County Alcohol Task Force issued a total of 16 traffic citations and 39 non-traffic alcohol-related citations during the weekend. Bars and restaurants in the borough did not serve alcohol on Saturday to patrons.
A few incidents were reported, including one man following through a window of India Pavilion restaurant suffering cuts and causing $1,000 worth of damage.
