Legislators Hope to End Turnpike Commission

State legislators are pushing to abolish the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission after a grand jury discovered waste, fraud and abuse within the agency. A bill was introduced last week to streamline maintenance and management for the highway system. It would transfer all operations, maintenance, construction and further responsibilities to PennDOT. PennDOT currently oversees 41,000 miles of roads across the state.
