Penn State Sanctions Reduced

A lot has changed at Penn State over the last 22 months. Most Penn State football fans celebrated earlier this week when the NCAA decided to ease sanctions against the program. NCAA President Mark Emmert is impressed by the university’s athletic department.The NCAA did not rule out additional alterations to the sanctions in the future.


Football Skills Competition Planned

Centre Region Parks and Recreation will host an NFL and Pepsi National “Punt, Pass & Kick” skills competition on Saturday. The event is free and open for boys and girls ages 6-15. It will take place at the John Hess Softball Field Complex. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. with the competition beginning at noon. More information is available online at www.crpr.org.


Patton Township Roadwork

All vehicles must be removed from several roadwork areas across Patton Township, beginning today! Traffic delays are also possible as the Public Works Department will be constructing road improvements. The affected areas include:

-         Vairo Boulevard from Waddle Road to Bergman Boulevard

-         Park Lane from Park Forest Avenue to Cornwall Road

-         Douglas Drive from North Atherton Street to North Oak Lane
