The lawsuit filed by victim 6 in the Jerry Sandusky case will go on as scheduled. In a court order on Monday, Federal Judge Anita Brody denied Penn State and The Second Mile’s request to stay the lawsuit because the “young man has already waited a long time for justice and would be burdened with further delay.”
In the order, Brody did say that
Lawyers for the university asked to delay the case because they felt their defense would be hurt without the testimonies of Tim Curley and Gary Schultz, while the Second Mile asked the case to be delayed until the prosecutions were done.

Governor Corbett visited the Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology yesterday. The school is expanding thanks to a 2 million dollar Economic Grown Initiative grant from the state.
Corbett said the state investment will pay off because it will create jobs. According to the Centre Daily times the initiative is expected to create 31 new permanent jobs and 14 part time jobs at the facility within a year. Corbett estimates that it will create 185 jobs statewide with additional trained workers coming out of the school.
Senator Jake Corman is backing Governor Corbett’s effort to privatize the state liquor system, but he does have a few concerns.Corman said yesterday that he supports the concept, but is concerned that a large number of new licenses can flood the market. He also wants to examine the financial impact of the privatization bill which has already passed the house and is expected to be taken up by the senate next month.
