Farm Bill

A new bill in the state House would make it illegal to record or take pictures of a Pennsylvania farming operation without the Owner’s permission. While Cambria County Representative Gary Haluska admits that he doesn’t know of any incidents in which this occurred, he stated that farmers in his district suggested the bill as an added protection.

The state already has a law against trespassing on agricultural land and according to Radio Pa’s Matt Paul, activists suggest the legislation is an attempt to muzzle those who try to document abuses or other suspicious activity.
