Strengths

·         Stocky, well-built safety

·         Has the lower body thickness and power desired

·         Sure tackler

·         Good speed, strong for position

·         Effective blitzer off the edge

·         Very comfortable in the box

·         Hammer of a safety, punishes ball carrier

·         Throws his weight around with reckless abandon

·         Good center fielder, enough speed and good instincts

·         Downhill runner who fills the lane well

·         Has very good instincts for the position

·         Smart player who sets the defense

 

 

Weaknesses

·         Sometimes takes poor angles to the ball and over-runs the play

·         Speed is good but not elite

·         Not a ball hawk

·         Didn’t cover slot receivers a lot at Louisville

 

Analysis:

Pryor is probably the better of the top two safeties in this year’s draft class. He’s an exceptional tackler, plays well in the box and still has the range to play the deep middle. He’s not a ball hawking safety who will make huge plays in the passing game, but he’s not a liability. He’s smart, a defensive quarterback and he plays downhill to the ball. Pryor has good instincts for the running game and is a solid blitzer as an added bonus. Solid starter at the next level.
