Strengths

·         Smooth runner with game speed

·         Fluid in and out of breaks

·         NFL ready route running ability

·         Uses multiple gears to get open

·         Good after the catch,

·         Short area acceleration is fantastic

·         Can high point the ball, great vertical leap and good hands

·         High character, competitor who is a natural leader

·         Elusive at the LOS, can beat press with speed

·         Plays through pain

Weaknesses

·         Doesn’t have the speed you’d like to compensate for size

·         Thin frame, durability is a concern

·         Not short, but not overly tall

·         Not a great blocker

·         Ineffective kick/punt returner

·         Tends to be a body catcher

·         Can be rerouted if DB gets his hands on him

 

Analysis:

He’s not the biggest, he’s not the fastest, and he’s not the strongest, but Marqise Less is probably the most NFL ready receiver in this draft. Lee is a three year starter in college who possesses clear leadership qualities. However, his small frame will open him up to injuries in the future (had multiple this past year).   Lee needs to continue to work on his catching as well. He tends to trap any ball below his shoulders and above his waist against his body instead of plucking it out of the air. Not an overly effective kick returner as well.  He will need to get stronger and add a couple pounds to take NFL punishment and to not be rerouted by bigger corners. Bottom line is that Lee will be very productive at the next level.
