Sammy Watkins is one of the most explosive players in this draft. Most of the shortcomings in his game are due to the offense he played in at Clemson. The Clemson offense has two routes, stop and go. Because of that Watkins will need to learn to run the entire route tree and improve in that area. He also doesn’t possess elite size or leaping ability. This raises the question of whether or not he can be a top target in an offense. With all of that said, Watkins should be considered a top 10 draft pick because of his explosive athleticism. He has the ability to take the ball and go sixty yards at any given moment. He may take some time to transition to the NFL, but the wait will be worth it.
